During our last inspection in January 2025, Ofsted said:
- From early years, children start to learn sounds and regularly enjoy reading books together. Staff are experts in teaching phonics.
- The school has ensured that an ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum is in place.
- Pupils behave well because the school’s policy is clear, and expectations are high. During lessons, pupils are keen and attentive learners.
- The school carefully reviews the quality of its well-considered personal development provision.
- Pupils have a good understanding of how to keep themselves safe at home, in the community and when online.
- In early years, children are well supported to take turns and play together. They quickly gain confidence and independence.
- Pupils are well prepared for the next stages of their education.
- Ongar Place Primary School has taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection.
